R10 Globalization of Professional Activities Coordinator

Section Congress 2008 Recommendation  - There are a good number of IEEE member benefits that are relevant or accessible to Regions 1 - 6 members only.  IEEE should implement similar benefits of local relevance across all regions. (Member Benefits).

The Globalization of Professional Activities Committee was formed and this is the 2009 progress report.

MGA IEEE Globalization of Professional Activities Committee Report Highlights: -

1.    IEEE Free e-Book and Webminar http://ieeeusa.org/careers/gpa/

These services were already provided by IEEE USA and is now extended to all IEEE members.  It is an excellent resource for the benefit to the career, project management, employment and financial services to all members.  Volunteer leaders are encouraged to promote and to make use of the resource to organize forum and technical activities, e.g. training courses to members and students.  This is in particular beneficial to Region 10 members to practice their English language skill.

2.    Products, Services and Models that Already Exist –

Section chairs and volunteer leaders are urged to check below list and to take the initiative planning similar new activities that can most benefit members in their locality.

We can make reference to this excellent resource to achieve the goal of R10.  Should you need more information, send your question to Y W Liu, ywliu@ieee.org.
